During the period 1970-1992 the irrigation effect on the growth and development of the commercial tobacco varieties in Cuban conditions was studied. Using and optimal irrigation regime, was obtain average increase of: 35 cm. high, 1.7 in the number of the harvesting leaves, 12 and 7 cm. for the large and wide of the leaves, 1.8 cm. in the interleaves large and 0.9 t/ha supplementary yield in comparison with no irrigate tobacco, for that the tobacco in Cuba is an irrigation culture.
